Life After Covid?

How stress and anxiety mount up without our even realizing it. I made this for YouTube but thought I’d post it here as well.

Life is complicated all on its own. Worry, stress, anxiety and depression seem to be just a fact of life. We may become pretty good at putting up a front and many people are skilled at managing the everyday stresses in life.

But those stresses mount up! Increasing occurrences and severity of fears, phobias, anxiety, and panic attacks may be due to the accumulation of even simple stressors. It’s called “allostatic load” and it naturally builds up over time. The good news is that we can reverse that process and lower our allostatic load.

Schedule a consultation and make an informed decision about what you can do to change your experience. I’ll answer any questions you have about hypnosis and you can tell me about your experience. If we decide to work together, I’ll credit the $25 consultation fee toward our sessions.

It may not be a chemical imbalance!

Stress is a natural reaction. Anxiety has a place and a purpose.

when stress and anxiety become chronic, they cultivate depression.

Hypnotherapy can help you take control of them without medications.*

*You should not change your medications without consulting the physician who prescribed them.

“Medication wasn’t working and I hated the feelings and the thoughts passing through my mind. Hypnosis was the one thing that helped me cope. I learned enough in just a few sessions to manage it myself.”
— Jan D. Pittsburgh PA

The source of most sleep issues

  • Whether you can’t get to sleep or you wake up and can’t go back to sleep, the root cause is likely stress and anxiety. Whether your mind races or it remains blank, you can do something about your sleep deprivation by managing how you handle stress and respond to anxiety. Hypnotherapy and self-hypnosis can help you not only learn to relax but to allow mounting stress and anxiety to drain away.

Social Anxiety

Wanting to stay in, limiting our social engagement, avoiding social gatherings or just overwhelming self-conscious thoughts can devastate our lives in more ways than one. We, humans, are essentially social beings. We need to build accept responsibility for building social relationships that mutually feed and nurture one another.

All too often people who limit their social exposure have difficulty finding people worth of that sort of commitment. We might gravitate towards people who can only commiserate with our isolation or who, perhaps even worse, take advantage of us. Whether we feel lonely, isolated, unlikable or just don’t know how to cultivate healthy relationships with others, the change starts inside and works its way out.

Caregiver stress

Our aging population is becoming increasingly dependent on their loved ones. Sometimes it seems that our lives must be set aside to provide care for another person. Conflicting emotions, fatigue, frustration, and even feelings of anger, and even resentment, and guilt are common among caregivers. With focused hypnotherapy, you’ll gain strategies for coping with the mounting stress as well as the physical and emotional demands. You’ll gain individual insight into critical methods of self-care so that you are able to do what life demands. You’ll also develop skills that will be necessary for your own adjustment when caregiving is no longer a dominant part of your life.

Please don’t hesitate. The change is real and really quite wonderful.

What if…

  • there is really NOTHING wrong with your brain?

  • the medications aren’t working, or aren’t enough?

  • you feel like you should be able to handle it but don’t think you can?

  • you found out that life doesn’t have to suck?

  • you were to find real help and renewed hope?

Your brain reacts to the world around you based entirely on the way you perceive the world. Your experiences feed your perceptions and your perceptions create your experience. It’s a cycle that your unconscious mind depends on. You see, we’ve all learned our own, individual, unconscious ways of managing and surviving and naturally, some ways are better than others. Many times, our own methods just cause the feelings to snowball.

In addition to providing clinical hypnosis, I’ll teach you very easy but powerful ways for coping with and managing stress and anxiety. You’ll be able to apply those strategies both at the moment when you need them and consistently to reduce your overall stress and anxiety.
