Joseph A Onesta, CHP

I am friendly, compassionate and, easy to talk to.  I am genuinely interested in helping all of my clients to the fullest extent of my ability. I see each client first and foremost as a fellow human who just needs some help. It’s my job to help you take control of your experience…your life.

If you are interested, I’ve placed links to some of the podcasts on which I’ve been a guest. These might just be the best way to get to know me.

What you won’t get from me is hype or bullsh*t. My reputation is integrally interwoven with your success. I want you to succeed; if that means working with me, great. If that means helping you find the right person for you, that’s great, too.

Certifying Agencies

I am certified by two agencies. IMDHA, the International Medical & Dental Hypnotherapy Association, and ICBCH , the International Certification Board of Clinical Hypnotherapists, where I am also a certified hypnosis instructor. I am held to the highest professional and ethical standards.

In My Practice

I work with clients in person in my Pittsburgh office and around the world online. A brief glance at the dropdown menu under the “Services” tab on this website will give you a general idea of what I do on a daily basis.

My Specialty—Metabolic Syndrome

Ever since I reversed my own Type 2 diabetes and lost 100 pounds, I have been focused on helping my clients achieve their own success with diabetes and weight loss. My experience and the experiences of my clients influenced the creation of what we now call the Onesta Process, a unique combination of education, coaching, and hypnotherapy that helps clients comfortably adjust to the necessary lifestyle changes to become and stay free from diabetes and obesity. I also train other hypnotherapists to administer the Onesta Process. I have also authored a number of books, most of them on the subjects of type 2 diabetes and obesity. You can visit see a list of my books here.

Speaker Services

I am blessed to be a comfortable, vibrant public speaker. I frequently speak at international hypnosis conferences. I am available as a speaker or trainer at your company, organization, or conference on the topics related to hypnosis and lifestyle changes including, anxiety, emotional eating, diabetes control and reversal, and weight loss. With a few questions, I can most likely customize a hypnosis topic specifically for your audience. If you are interested in that you can contact me at the information below or use the contact form on this website.

Why Hypnosis?

Early in my life, I had very positive and powerful experiences with hypnosis.  Through the help of a client-centered hypnotherapist, I was able to forgive the deep hurts that were holding me back. I gained a greater awareness of who I am and my purpose in life. At the time, hypnosis looked miraculous but I've learned that the real miracle rests in each one of us...you too.  It's the miraculous power of our own minds to create the life we want within the world we live.  (In many cases, we've actually created a life we don't want...why not reverse that?) Happiness is not some far-removed goal.  It's not a secret held by mystical sages.  It's available to everyone...you too.  Truly, my life has been transformed by the practice of hypnosis and mindfulness, initially as a client and now as a practitioner.  I trust you will find it as valuable as I have.
